Agh! You’re still here? My new site and weblog, ianking.ca is now up and running; new posts are building up over there, never to be mirrored here. Go! What are you waiting for? All the stuff worth keeping has been migrated over to the new server, and I don’t anticipate making any more posts here.

Old posts will remain on this server for as long as the people at Blogger/Google allow them to remain; unfortunately, I’m not going to bother to come up with any way of converting permalinks on this blog to their corresponding posts on the new site. Yes, I plead laziness. I also realize the irony of switching away from Blogger just it starts to add features that the demanding blog nerds insist upon.

Where I been?
- Science students often aren’t active on university campuses because they have no life. Regardless of what others might say, it’s got bugger-all to do with the fact that most college campuses are dominated by various flavours of leftists and everything to do with the fact that you can’t easily abscond from a three-hour lab in order to demonstrate in favour or against something or other.
- While I was out, the provincial government dropped a “balaced budget” on BC. Of course, it was balanced thanks to over $400-million in federal equalization payments and generously estimated Hydro revenues. I do recall that the then-Liberal opposition sneered at the old NDP government balancing the books with Hydro profits. God knows what they’d yell about using equalization to do the same. But if the shoe’s on the other foot…
- The public’s response? The NDP, ignominiously turfed from office three years ago, actually leads the Liberals in voter intention. Yowch.
- Job stats yo-yo like hell. In January, BC gained enough jobs to compel Gordon Campbell and Gary Collins to foghorn on about how BC was leading the country in job growth. The next month, we lost over 36,000 jobs. Igh.
- Federally, the Liberals confirmed that not only can they reward their friends, but that their friends abuse the spoils of office.
- The new new leader of the new new party is the old leader of one of the old party, or was it the new party that swallowed up the old party, or was that the old party that swallowed up the old old party, or…? Whatever it was, the blowjobs came out on Monday , and it was proclaimed that by winning the Conservative leadership, longtime political parasite Stephen Harper could win in Ontario after all. Just one problem, lads—he won over the party faithful facing a pretty weak field. Now he’s gotta convince the other 20 million eligible voters out there, facing off against two credible leaders of their own parties.
- Oh, and Opera 7.50 preview 3 is the best damn web browser on the planet. If you’re still trundling around with one of the Mozilloid browsers (or, gawd forbid, IE), do yourself a favour and switch. If you want some reasons to switch, how about 30 of them?
